Companion
Some disabled people are entitled to a travel companion. This allows both you and another person to travel free of charge. Your companion can be a different person for different journeys and there is no need to have someone with you on every journey you make.
To qualify for the companion entitlement you need to fall into one of the following categories:
- You receive the Higher or Middle Rate of Care of Disability Living Allowance.
- You receive Attendance Allowance.
- You are Registered Blind.
- You live in a Care or residential home or hospital.
Your companion must be over the age of 5 years.
