Remember to use your New Card
Aberdeen City Council has begun upgrading citizens’ smartcard to a higher specification JCOP card (pronounced Jay Cop).
The migration of existing Accord cardholders to this new JCOP card was started at the end of 2007 and will continue for the next 2 years. If you have a new card you need to be using it now.
The first group of citizens to be upgraded were the 40,000 Aberdeen residents with an Accord / NEC for Scotland-wide free bus travel. They have now received their new JCOP card and should be actively using the new JCOP card on the buses.
The second group of customer to receive the new card are all those entitled to Access to Leisure (A2L). In addition to their free bus travel entitlement, citizens aged 60 and over will also get lifetime Access to Leisure Membership loaded on to their new card.
The 3,000 citizen’s who are not entitled to free bus travel and therefore do not already have a National Entitlement Card were sent an application form for the new JCOP Accord / NEC in the last quarter of 2007. All new A2L customers now have to apply for an Accord / NEC. Application forms are available from any of the Customer Access Point - Contact Us
