Young Scot National Entitlement Card

Access All Areas smallYoung Scot NEC National Marketing Campaign Launches

A major national marketing campaign launched on September 17th 2007, to promote the new Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) to young people aged 12 to 18.

The aim of the campaign, which has been developed in consultation with local authority Dialogue Youth units, (and the Accord Scheme in Aberdeen) is to encourage a greater level of uptake of the card, and to increase awareness and understanding of all of the benefits of the Young Scot NEC, including the proof of age element enabled by the PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) hologram; the Young Scot local and national discounts available to card holders; local services which can be accessed through the smart cards and the transport concessions available to 16-18 year olds. The campaign, entitled “Access All Areas”, has several elements:

The design and key messages of the campaign were all designed with young people, via focus groups and consultation.

The posters and magazine will be distributed in partnership with the Accord Scheme in Aberdeen and Dialogue Youth, as well as through some of Young Scot’s national discount partners. Young Scot will also be working with intermediaries to ensure the message gets out to young people who are traditionally harder to reach.

All of the artwork developed for the campaign, plus the radio advert, will be made available to Dialogue Youth, to allow them to develop local adaptations and to support their own promotional activity in their areas.

If you have not got a Young Scot National Entitlement Card, and you live in Aberdeen, then contact the Accord Scheme on 0845 345 2789 or collect an application form from The Point. Don't miss out on access to a pile of benefits and discounts.
