Model Pupils
In 2006 the Accord Scheme ran focus group meetings with various pupils, at several of the local secondary schools. The purpose of these focus groups was to ask pupils what they did and didn’t like about websites.
One of the outcomes from these meetings was the need for pictures of ‘real’ people, who they could relate to, not stock photos.
This backed-up previous information the Accord Scheme had collected from an earlier survey, during 2005. Which 60% of secondary school pupils completed. One of the outcomes from that survey was the marketing material used up to then, did not appeal to young people, and actually acted as a deterrent for using the cards is some extreme cases.
Accord addressed this issue of pictures of ‘real’ people, by offering pupils from any secondary school in the City of Aberdeen to be models for a day.
Two photographic sessions (photos taken by Aberdeen City Council’s award-winning photographer Norman Adams) were organized. One session was at Ispiro Estetica Hair & Beauty, on Schoolhill and a second session was at A Cut Above, on Union Street.
Pupils who took up the challenge came from the following schools:
Ispiro Estetica Hair & Beauty; http://www.ispiro.co.uk/index.html
- Bankhead Academy
- Oldmachar Academy
A Cut Above;
- Bridge of Don
- Robert Gordon’s College
- Albyn School
We’ve only put up a few of the photographs, as we took hundreds. But we think you’ll agree the photos look great.
So look out for our real models as they will appear on all the Accord Schemes future marketing literature, website, advertising, application forms, adverts and press material.
