
Welcome to the Accord Scheme
The Accord Card is Aberdeen City Council's existing smartcard scheme. From April 2006 the Scottish Executive launched a National Entitlement Card to carry national services and this has been combined with the Accord Card.
This combined card is referred to as the Accord / National Entitlement Card. It's a great way to access a variety of local and national services.
Listed below are all the services currently carried on the Accord / National Entitlement Card.
- Cashless Catering and vending in all Aberdeen City Secondary Schools,
- Free School Meal entitlement,
- Young Scot Membership for those aged 12 to 26,
- Young Person's Travel Concession,
- Scotland Wide Free Bus Travel for Older and Disabled Persons,
- National Entitlement Card,
- Library Card,
- Access to Leisure.

New Secondary School Students
If you/ your child is due to start secondary school in Aberdeen City in August 2008, it is important that they have an Accord / National Entitlement Card for the start of term. The card is the only means of accessing the catering and vending facilities at the school as well as offering many other benefits.
If you have already applied for the card, it will be issued by the secondary school during the orientation day in June 2008. If you have not applied yet (or have applied and do not receive your card on the orientation day), please contact the Accord office (0845 3452789) as soon as possible to discuss the situation.

Remember to use your New Card
Aberdeen City Council has begun upgrading citizens’ smartcard to a higher specification JCOP card (pronounced Jay Cop).
The migration of existing Accord cardholders to this new JCOP card was started at the end of 2007 and will continue for the next 2 years. If you have a new card you need to be using it now. Read more about remember to use your New Card.
JAM night for Under 18s at the Lemon Tree.
JAM is a night of live bands, music and fun, being organised by young people, for young people, at the Lemon Tree on Friday 30th November 2007.

Announcing a new Accord card discount at the Lemon Tree
From 1st October the Lemon Tree is offering two great discounts to Accord Card holders.
- 14 to 16 year olds receive 50% discount off all Lemon Tree Promotions.

Young Scot NEC National Marketing Campaign Launches
"Access all Areas" is a major national marketing campaign launched on September 17th 2007, to promote the new Young Scot National Entitlement Card (NEC) to young people aged 12 to 18.

Model Pupils
Accord offered pupils from all secondary schools the opportunity to be models for a day. A photographic session (photos taken by Aberdeen City Council’s award-winning photographer Norman Adams) were held at two leading hairdressers in Aberdeen; Ispiro Estetica Hair & Beauty and A Cut Above.
